Rensselaer County Greens
The Rensselaer County Greens are an active chapter of the Green Party of New York State, serving the Capital District region. We are committed to environmental activism, social justice, grassroots democracy, and peace.
Environmental Activism
The Rensselaer County Greens have been at the forefront of environmental activism in the Capital District. We have organized opposition to the construction of a microchip fabrication plant that threatened local water resources, air quality, and community health. Our members work to hold corporations and government agencies accountable for environmental protection.
Monthly Meetings
The Rensselaer County Greens hold monthly meetings at the Troy Public Library. Meetings are open to the public, and all interested community members are welcome to attend. Meeting topics include local political issues, upcoming campaigns, environmental concerns, and party business.
Capital District Green Times
The Capital District Green Times is a newsletter produced by Greens in the Capital District area. The newsletter covers local Green Party news, environmental issues, community events, and political analysis relevant to residents of Rensselaer County and the surrounding region.
Fierce Green Fire Radio Show
Fierce Green Fire is a radio program broadcast on WRPI 91.5 FM, the student-run radio station at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy. The show covers environmental issues, Green politics, and community activism in the Capital District and beyond.
